Cisco SPA 5 End of Life


July 16, 2024

From August 2024 City Cloud Phone will no longer support the Cisco SPA 5** handsets and SPA112 ATA.

We have taken this measure in response to the lifecycle of these models and the ever increasing security vulnerabilities which could place your service in jeopardy. From August 2024 these devices will no longer receive security firmware updates, access company directories or be able to be modified from the City Cloud Phone portal. They will still be able to make a receive calls but if the phone I reset it will no longer be able to communicate with our provisioning server.

The Cisco SPA range was released in 2009 and Cisco announced they had reached end of life (EOL) back in 2019. They stopped updating the handsets in 2020 however City Communications was able to extend support until now.

If you are still using one of these handsets speak to your account manager or our sales team to look for an upgrade.

We recommend the following handsets

Cisco SPA-502G  -> Yealink T43U
Cisco SPA-504G -> Yealink T43U
